Safeguards Consultation Workshop – Balochistan “ESS Stakeholder Consultation – PMU-BESP”
PMU-BESP Environmental and Social Safeguards (ESS) team successfully organized a Stakeholders Consultation Workshop under the World Bank-funded projects GRADES-B (Getting Results: Access and Delivery of Education Services – Balochistan) and STEP-B (System Transformation in Early Education Project – Balochistan).
The session brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from government departments and esteemed development partners such as UNICEF, IRC, UN Women, and UNDP, along with BEPA and BRSP.
The workshop served as a collaborative platform to deliberate on critical Environmental and Social Safeguards, including the Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF), World Bank Environmental and Social Standards (ESS), and the Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM). Discussions also focused on community engagement, social inclusion, gender considerations, transport and parental facilitation, and land-related and resettlement aspects, alongside key environmental compliance measures.
Participants shared valuable insights, practical recommendations, and highlighted potential risks and challenges. The feedback gathered will significantly contribute to strengthening the implementation of environmental and social safeguards under both projects.
